ProGen Study Group

Genealogists looking for a new educational opportunity, whether they plan to become a Professional Genealogist or just want to perform more professionally, should look at the ProGen Study Group.  ProGen is an online, collaborative study group for anyone interested in upgrading their skills. The group uses the book Professional Genealogy: A Manual for Researchers, Writers, Editors, Lecturers and Librarians, edited by Elizabeth Shown Mills. This is a must have book for any serious genealogist.

The group runs 18 months and offers participants monthly reading assignments and practical assignments to hone their skills. A monthly online chat is part of the program to share ideas and discuss the reading materials. New groups will form soon. To inquire about the program, go to ProGen’s Waiting List page to request to be added.
