In preparation for FGS2011, the FGS media team has been blogging a lot about research repositories and archives all over the state and surrounding states. The Abe Lincoln Library, located in Springfield, IL, is a fantastic resource.
I visited the library last year to do newspaper research. It is one of my goals before this year ends to visit the library again to go through their shelves of books. Even if I have nothing to research, just walking the aisles to see what they have will give me a good idea for when I do have something to research.
