At the FGS 2011 conference at the beginning of the month I had the pleasure of meeting Daniel Horowitz from MyHeritage.com while taking the behind the scenes tour of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Daniel blogged about the tour here.
I thought the tour was amazing. What interesting jobs all the archivists and librarians have. My favorite area was the stacks in the basement and hearing they have materials about the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. I have always wanted to write something about that related to either Chicago Day or Czech Day. Maybe I’ll have to start looking into that when I’m next in Springfield and continue that research at the Chicago History Museum for starters.
Daniel featured a guest post I wrote on the MyHeritage blog. You can read about my cousin Frank Winkler.
