In my quest to create a genealogy department at Casa Italia and provide resources for researchers and writers, I decided to participate in the Armchair Genealogist’s Family History Writing Challenge for February. I attempt to write daily but it doesn’t always happen and I have a book about my military ancestors to finish among many other projects.
As part of my work at Casa Italia, I will be creating a writer’s group later this year. But for the time being I encourage researchers to begin writing their family history in pieces through this challenge. For more family history writing resources, please see the Casa Italia Genealogy Writer’s Group page. This page is a work in progress and I would appreciate you telling me about other resources that should be added. Just comment to this post.
I commit to writing a minimum of 500 words a day as part of this daily Family History Writing Challenge!
Are you ready to get started?

500 is really a challenge. Best wishes! Great way to get started doing what you are doing, though… good conversation to get your folks involved. Best wishes!
Thanks Dr. Bill!
500 words is really ambitious! I’m going for 250-300 myself. Good luck to each of us.
Thanks Donna! Good luck to you too!
